Your eldest child is 17 years old and your youngest is about to turn 3 years old, due to the age gap have you approached parenting differently?
I have been very conscious to keep my parenting the same or as close to when I raised my 17yo. She has turned out into a lovely young lady and I want the same for my 3yo. It is a lot harder in some respects because of the advancement of technology and the push for it into the hands of young kids. But I chose to stick to the basics. Pen and paper for drawing, books from library to read, lots of outdoor activity and old fashioned toys such as blocks and puzzles.
What advice would you give sleep deprived parents?
Everything that has been said before! But no one really puts it into practice. Me included! And that is...let it all go! Let the washing pile wait while you rest, leave the dishes in the sink while you rest, the house cleaning can wait. Make time to rest and look after yourself!
